The Center for Hope program provides an outreach and service to a community that has undergone economic hardship and demographic change in what has been designated a distressed community. The Center provides character education, recreation, academic preparation and employment readiness for the community at large.
The Center for Hope has an endowment fund through the United Methodist Foundation for the purpose of supporting the Center in the years to come. If you are interested in contributing to the fund please contact the Center or the foundation for further information.
Below is brief description of many of the outreach programs provided by Fellowship UMC's Center for Hope.

Ambridge Area Food Pantry
|
A program of the Ambridge Ministerium providing food to persons who are unable to purchase enough food for themselves and their families because of an emergency or other crisis. The pantry is open the last two Tuesday evenings of the month from 7-8:30PM.

Adult Literacy Action Penn State Beaver
|
ALA provides a comprehensive education, training, research and service program. It matches adults with a trained volunteer to work on basic skills (One-to-One Tutoring); teaches foreign-born adults to read, write and speak conversational English and prepare for naturalization and daily living skills; identifies and remedies an employee's basic skill needs (Workforce Education); provides free day and evening instruction in math, writing, mechanical comprehension, test taking and study skills, pre-GED and refresher courses.

Christian Life Skills
|
Christian Life Skills seeks to empower families and youth to live spiritually healthy and productive lives through the practical application of the Word of God. A biblically-based curriculum of print and video materials teaches life skills in a way that addresses drug prevention, teen pregnancy prevention through several approaches to ministry; flexible enough to be used in the home, church and community.

Community Tutoring
|
One-to-one tutoring for elementary school aged children in Reading, Math, and Science, followed by a nutritious snack.

Hope Computer Lab
|
Hope Computer Lab provides free computer learning labs and educational programs that help bridge the Digital Divide. Classes meet for two hours one day a week for 6 weeks. Classes include My Computer 1 and 2, My Word Processor 1 and 2, My Internet 1 and 2, My Keyboard 1 and 2, My Power Point 1; and My Spreadsheet 1. Act 48 credit is available for many of the classes.

OVR
Disability Services
|
OVR is the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, a state agency
that provides services to help persons with disabilities prepare for, start,
and maintain employment. OVR provides a wide range of services to eligible
applicants. The services you receive will be arranged to meet your
individual needs.
The New Castle OVR District Office provides services to the following
counties: Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, and Armstrong. To learn more

between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. OVR services provide
opportunities for individuals with disabilities to become productive and
independent in their communities.

WIC Women, Infants, and Children
|
Food, nutrition counseling, access to health services, and referral to other health, welfare and social services are provided to low-income women, infants, and children under the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, popularly know as WIC.
WIC is a supplemental nutrition program that can help provide nutritious foods for women who are pregnant, who have just had a baby or who are breastfeeding. WIC also provides food for infants and children up to the age of five years.
Whether you are working or unemployed you may br eligible for WIC.

WIC of Beaver County serves approximately 3,100 participants each month.
